Who we are

About Tricia

Tricia Wilkerson, MSW, LCSW is the founder of Life Coach Counseling and Mental Wellness. Her work is solution-focused, evidence-based, and strengths-based—blending clinical therapy with practical coaching strategies to help clients move forward with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

Tricia believes acceptance is the beginning of meaningful change. People do not need to be fixed—they already have strengths, resilience, and the capacity for growth. Her role is to help clients recognize what is already working while building skills to respond more intentionally to thoughts, emotions, and life challenges.

Before becoming a therapist, Tricia served in the United States Army as a combat medic—an experience that shaped a calm, grounded, and action-oriented approach to care. She earned her Master’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2022 and works primarily with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, addiction recovery, and major life transitions.

Therapy is collaborative, supportive, and purpose-driven. We focus on accountability without shame, self-compassion without avoidance, and values-based action that supports sustainable growth—one intentional step at a time.

Values in practice

Growth is not about becoming someone else—it is about strengthening who you already are and moving forward with intention.

In practice, this means:

  • Accepting where you are without resigning yourself to staying there

  • Recognizing resilience rather than defining yourself by symptoms

  • Building skills that support emotional regulation, confidence, and clarity

  • Aligning daily choices with values rather than fear

  • Taking responsibility for change while extending compassion to yourself

What Sets Us Apart

Therapy works best when it feels safe, practical, and tailored to you—not rushed or one-size-fits-all. At Life Coach Counseling and Mental Wellness, we combine trauma-informed care with structured, skills-based support so you can make real progress in daily life. We focus on compassionate accountability, measurable goals, and an approach that respects your pace while helping you move forward.

Client-Centered Care

You are more than a diagnosis or a difficult season. We take time to understand your story, strengths, and what matters most to you. Sessions are collaborative, supportive, and grounded in dignity—so you can build stability and confidence without shame.

Practical Tools That Work

We blend evidence-informed therapy with real-world tools you can actually use. You’ll leave sessions with clear takeaways—coping skills, communication strategies, relapse-prevention supports, and next steps—so progress doesn’t stay stuck in the therapy room.

Clear, Reliable Support

When you reach out, you shouldn’t feel like you’re shouting into the void. We aim to respond within 24 business hours, keep expectations clear, and provide a consistent process from intake to treatment planning. Supportive, professional follow-through is part of the care.

Structured, Flexible Options

Some people need more than weekly therapy to build momentum. We offer multiple levels of support—from individual therapy to structured group programming—available in-person in Lafayette or via telehealth across Indiana. Care can adjust as your needs change, with a plan for stepping down when you’re ready.
